Palamidi is one of the most beautiful castles in Greece and the largest and best  preserved fortress complex of the Venetian period.  

It was completed in 1714 in a record time of just a few years to serve the military and  naval operations of the Venetians at that time.  

A trademark of the area, the Bourtzi fortress, which is a monument of maximum  importance and one of the most important fortifications in Greece. It was built during  the period of the 1st Venetian rule, when Vittore Pasqualigo was prefect (commander) of  Nafplio, who originally gave it his name (Castel Pasqualigo). During the Venetian  occupation it was known as the “fortress of the rock” or “of the sea” (Castello dello  scoglio or Castello a mare).  

At a distance of 20 minutes from our facilities, there is the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus  as well as the Ancient Theater of Argos where theatrical performances are hosted during  the summer months.
